Will the data deluge make the scientific method obsolete?

Topic: Chris Anderson, the editor-in-chief of Wired Magazine and amateur philosopher of science, discusses a new kind of science: mainly if science can retain its established and successful track record by substituting its narrative models of reality with reliable predictions based solely on statistical correlations.

So we must ask, is this end of theory?  Will the data deluge make the scientific method obsolete?
